Shade Masters USA is a family-operated window-treatment showroom on Park Center Street in Leesburg, an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer selling interior and exterior shades, blinds and plantation shutters across Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. Their WordPress site took nearly a second to start responding and had 23 render-blocking files. We rebuilt it as a static site with a product-by-city matrix aimed squarely at the competitor outranking them in The Villages.

The core of the rebuild is 77 pages pairing seven product lines (interior, roller, zebra, lanai, garage and motorized shades, plantation shutters) with eleven cities from The Villages and Leesburg to Ocala, Clermont, Wildwood, Lady Lake, Oxford, Summerfield, Mount Dora, Eustis and Tavares. Every one carries original copy of 1,100 to 1,460 words, local detail and its own FAQ — because Google's scaled-content policy punishes templated city pages and the client's main competitor had earned its rankings with real ones.
Around that matrix: eighteen product pages, twenty-one location pages, a gallery built from 251 optimized photographs, three rewritten blog posts, a contact page with a measurement-appointment form, an accessibility statement and the legal pages. All original URL slugs were preserved and 72 redirects cover the date-based blog URLs and WordPress paths.
The homepage shows three real Google reviews with first-name attribution and links to the 5.0-star profile, instead of self-serving review markup. The old site's unverified "10+ years" claim was replaced with the true founding year.

Time to first byte on the homepage, old WordPress host versus the new static build on the Vercel edge, measured Oct 29, 2026. Homepage HTML shrank from roughly 152 KB to 55 KB.
Mobile Lighthouse on the live homepage measured 99 / 100 / 100 / 100 on Nov 3, 2026. Google Search Console cleanup removed 190,000 spam URLs the old site had accumulated.

Shade Masters sells from Leesburg but wins or loses in The Villages, where a larger competitor had built a city-by-product page for every combination that matters. Matching that footprint with honest, original pages — no fabricated storm or warranty claims, no borrowed copy — was the only way to compete without risking a scaled-content penalty.
The speed numbers are not vanity. A retiree on a phone in Brownwood Paddock Square does not wait a second for a page to start loading, and Google measures that wait. Cutting it to a fifth, while quintupling the page count, is what a static build makes possible.
